ABOUT HS4TS

The Hellenic Society for Translation Studies (HS4TS) is a non-profit - non-governmental association aiming to promote scientific research in the fields of translation and interpretation.

Ιστορικό

The Hellenic Society for Translation Studies was founded in 2011 by 21 leading academics, during the 2nd Meeting of Greek-speaking Translation Scholars, held at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The Society's official language is Greek. 

Aim

The aim of the Society is to serve as a platform for Greek-speaking trainers, researchers, and professionals in translation, interpreting, and localization, fostering exchange of ideas and promoting the importance of translation in contemporary societies.

Objectives

The Society promotes research, collaboration, and education in translation, interpreting, and localization. It aims to enhance the understanding and application of these fields at both national and international levels. 

Activities

The Society monitors the work of Greek-spaking TS scholars and gathers the relevant bibliographical references in a database created for this purpose. It coordinates the Translation Festival in the framework of the International Book Fair of Thessaloniki and organizes a series of events and actions on relevant topics.
